“Daredevil: Born Again‘s” creative overhaul has been one of the rarest best things that has happened to the MCU recently. It saved us from another potential She-Hulk or Secret Invasion-Esque debacle. The creative makeover also brought several fan-favorite characters from the Netflix show to the main MCU. Some newly leaked set footage has confirmed that our iconic trio of Karen, Foggy, and Matt are back in the show.
Initially, it was thought that Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll would not reprise their roles in the MCU. However, when the Marvel executives witnessed the show going in a different direction from what they desired, the original creative team was scrapped and replaced with an entirely new team. It ensured the comeback of our favorite characters and promised that we would get the same Netflix flavor in the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again”.
What do the leaked set photos from Daredevil: Born Again indicate?
Following his appearances in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, She-Hulk, and Echo, Charlie Cox is all set to return as the Man Without Fear in his MCU show. Although the recent MCU track record concerned some fans about the quality of the upcoming series, the updates from “Daredevil: Born Again” made it one of the most hyped-up projects in MCU’s future.
The show started its creative overhaul by bringing in The Punisher fame Dario Scardapane as the showrunner. “Moon Knight” and “Loki Season 2” directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were also roped in as the directors. Scardapane’s work in The Punisher and the reception of “Loki Season 2” encouraged the fans that the show may have the same Netflix flavor popular among fans.
Newly leaked set footage (via @DDevilUpdates) also confirmed the return of the two fan-favorite characters in the MCU show. In the footage, the iconic trio of Matt Murdock, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson can be spotted in “Daredevil: Born Again”.
Although the fans are thrilled to see the return of the iconic trio, insider Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) revealed that Page would not be a regular in the upcoming series. Reportedly, she would only appear in three episodes of the Disney+ series. It is reported that the Defenders saga is canon to the MCU, which promises that the show will likely follow the same path as the Netflix show. However, the less screentime of Deborah Ann Woll suggests that we might spot some slight deviation from the OG Netflix storyline.
