Russian President Vladimir Putin is thinking about visiting North Korea soon. He shared this during a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui in Russia last week. If this visit happens, it’ll be Putin’s first time going to North Korea in more than 20 years.
Kim and Putin’s Friendship Worries Some Countries
Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, and Putin seem to be getting along well. But this friendship is making the United States and its friends nervous. They don’t like that Kim and Putin are involved in trading weapons, which goes against what the United Nations says.
Putin said thank you to Kim for inviting him to visit North Korea. But, as of now, there’s no exact date for this visit. People from Russia are hopeful that it will happen soon.
Countries Worried, but Russia and North Korea Cooperate
While Putin is considering the visit, Russia and North Korea are worried about actions by the United States and its friends. They don’t like what’s happening with North Korea’s rights. Despite these concerns, both countries want to work together to deal with regional issues. They say they will follow the rules set by the United Nations and other international laws.
During the visit of North Korea’s Foreign Minister to Russia, they talked about Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. North Korea supported Russia, and they also discussed the actions of the United States and its friends.
